Acyclovir is generally used first line in the treatment of these viruses and some products are indicated for patients as young as 6 years old.[L7321] Acyclovir was granted FDA approval on 29 March 1982.[L7318]
Indications and Usage For the treatment and management of herpes zoster (shingles), genital herpes, and chickenpox.
